As Editor-In-Chief of the yearbook, 1 would like to invite you to scan the pages of this book and re-experience your senior college year. You can be assured that this book will exemplify the quality, tradition and class that has been the trademark of past University of Denver class annuals and that you, as a senior, will be proud to look at and shew off your yearbook. This year is special in two ways. First, it represents a revival of the popular slogan: Pride in workmanship. Second, it marks the Kynewisbok’s 90th anniversary. What started out as a locally produced, predominately hand-crafted and sewn book has new become an out-of-state published, high-tech, computer-produced book. Yet although the DU 189b yearbook was basically solely man-made and this book is largely machine-made, the Kynewisbok has retained the element that makes it worth reading: you, the student. For it is you and your friends who are in the pictures, and without you, the Kynewisbok could never exist. 1 hope your years as an undergraduate have been as rewarding as have mine. 1 trust the dreams you once had as a freshman are new well on their way to becoming reality. Hopefully, success has followed failure and for every trial and error at least one possible solution was found. Our experiences have brought us this tar; they will take us forward and help us to influence the world around us. CO 80208 Kynewisbok 303 • 871-4110 Yearbook Dear Fellcw Students: 1 knew everyone is probably thinking, Why is a sophemore writing a letter to the senior class in their yearbook? As luck would have it, 1 was promoted rather quickly to the position of assistant editor of production; it became my job bo give my congratulations to the Class of '86. Another reason 1 wrote this letter is because 1 thought it would be a nice change for an underclassman, instead of a chancellor, mayor, or senior, to get a pat on the back. Being in this position this early in my college career has enabled me to grew up very quickly and get to knew a tew seniors closely. Many people say that your second year is the worst year of your career; mine has probably been the best and the most profitable.
