Upsilon Delta Chi, the Home Economics Club. is made up of those girls taking courses in Home Economics. The Club's objectives this year were 'to improve social relationships among its members and train them to be ideal homemakers and leaders in their field. Many delightful meetings were on the agenda this year. The gayest Was the Christmas party complete With Santa Claus. Formal initiation was most serious and memorable With dinner, lighted candles, and a talk by Mrs. Winifred Braden, ad- vertising manager and art director at Thal's. The Ohio College Home Economics Clubs' Convention in Cincinnati was Well represented. Hospital Ward parties and discussions Red Cross members on the go The Red Cross College Unit at the University of Dayton sponsored numerous activities at Veterans Administration Hospital. Six Ward parties were given throughout the year for company eighteen, which the unit has adopted. Students from the ath- letic department showed football and basketball movies for the patients. The Debate Society was active with discussion panels at Brown Hospital for T. B. patients. A new field of Weekly service was opened in neuro-psychiatric ward of V. A. hospital. This pro- vided practical experience for students in sociology classes. These volunteers accompanied patients attending movies held every Monday night. Officers for the year were: William Hulsopple, president: Donald Fahrig, vice-president: Constance Focke, secretary: Carol Tate, treasurer: and Sister Agnes Immaculata, S. N. D., Faculty Advisor.

Further Social Contacts of Students Ferrazza laughs--Tormey deals Loretto dances successful The Flyer's Hangar is a special feature of the University which holds the important interest of students and their friends. It was esablished to further social contacts of each individual student and is open for membership to any full-time mem- ber of the student body. Dances are held every two weeks at the Loretto and the attendance is always successful. Annual features are the Sadie Hawkins' dance held in November under the supervision of the girl students on the committee and the Annivers- gry Dance held at Lakeside Ballroom in Decem- er. The committee members are headed by Dom Gallo, president: Ed Boland, vice-president: Vir- ginia MacMillan, secretary, and Mary Sullivan, treasurer, plus an advisory board Whose members are Don Cosgrove, Pauline Spring, Bob Tormey, giclc Mayer, Frances Dershem, Bill Kehl and Vera 91 er.
