n Memmiam Brother Fred Patt, S,M. At the University of Dayton and in the Society of Mary the death at Brother Frederick G. Patt, SM. on October 24, l947, was answered by comments which were unanimous in their sincere sorrow at his passing. Students of St. Joe's Hall and Marianists who knew Brother Fred personally, all acknowledged the per- sonal charm ot the sturdy 85-year-old Religious discip- linarian. He was, as it were, a living monument of inspiration to His Boys. Brother Fred died in the 69th year ot his religious profession. His loyalty to the Society ot Mary was con- tagious. His death, though sudden, is an object lesson to all men that crowning success in lite calls tor coura- geous and dedicated leadership. Page Thirteen

Zeand Page Twelve For eleven years Associate Dean in the College of Education, Dr. Daniel L. Leary fulfills his position with assurance and efficiency. A wide variety of practical and academic experience serves as a sustaining background for this busy man in his multi-roled schedule as dean, professor and lecturer. Aside from the many duties connected with an ex- panded enrollment in the College of Education, Dr. Leary is also connected with educational work off campus. Recently elected Secretary Treasurer of the Teacher Training Division of the Ohio College Association, he serves both school and Dr. Daniel l.. Leary Father Baumeister is the Dean of the Graduate Division. Many of the teachers in Dayton have undergone the strict discipline and exact method of study and thesis work which characterizes Father Baumeister. His energies extend them- selves also to the directorship of the Marian Library which has expanded to more than 2000 volumes in English, German, French, and ltalian. Books written about the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chinese, Japanese, and Hindu are kept as curiosities. community under the general theme of Education for All. E 1 V xi l Sister Agnes lmmaculata Upon the shoulders of Bro. George W. Nagel, S.M. fall Rev. Edmond J. Baumeister Reverend Sister Agnes lmmaculata, S.N.D., Dean of Wo'nen, is general coordinator of all affairs concerning our coeds. She is a trusted and gracious advisor to this group, she spares no efforts to solve any difficulties that occur for the students, be these matters academic or otherwise. Sister Agnes is also Moderator of the Mothers' Club. two distinct and important jobs. As co-ordinator of Veterans' Affairs, Brother Nagel has the task of advising the student veterans, and of handling much of the paper work that a predominantly veteran student body entails. As Acting Dean of the Division of Business Administration, he must perform the duties of advising. guiding and assisting the many students enrolled in that division. An astute businessman, possessing a keen understanding of human nature, Brother Nagel performs his tasks wisely and iustly. His door is always open to veterans and business students alike. His task is not an easy one as he listens to the many problems brought before him, but he accepts them all with responsibility and human interest. Bro. Geo. W. Nagel S.M
