We must stop living in a dream world, where resourses are unlimited and any amount of garbage can be thrown into the environment without serious consequences. We must face the fact that further population growth, in the United States, will be harmful. To halt population growth certain changes must come about. The number of children in the average American family must decrease from 2.5 to about 2. To bring about this change, there has to be a change in attitude and an increased ability to control one's own reproduction. A zero Population Growth was formed to bring about the changes that will encourage smaller families. The ZPG approach is twofold: Political Action and Education. POLITICAL ACTION The tools of ZPG's political action program are: 1) Support of candidates favorable to our point of view 2) Lobbying in our state and federal legislative bodies. ZPG maintains a lobbying staff in Washington, D.C. to promote legislation favorable to our goals and to educate our Senators and Congressmen about the population problem. Our 200 local chapters and 20,000 members around the nation constitute a political structure that can be mobilized to support particular candidates or particular bills before Congress. Our single, most important goal is the complete legali- zation of abortion throughout the United States. We are actively supporting all ot the proposed legislation leading to this ena. Other policy goals include 1) adoption of a national policy of stopping population growth. 2) Increased government support of birth control research and education. 3) Laws to remove restriction on the dissemination of information about birth control and voluntary sterili- zation. 4) Removal of the subsidies, direct and indirect, given to large families (more than two children). These subsidies include income tax exemptions for children beyond the second and after a certain cutoff date in the future. We feel we are performing a vital service to our country and its present citizens. We need your support. DELTA ZETA 1. B. Heitkamp 2. S. Nivin 3. A. Head, Treas. 4. M. Galembo 5. T.R. 6. S. I object to and dislike being drafted, but Pm willing to be neutral if it's going to get me out of trouble. Mr. A.: I see. Did any member of your family did in, or as a result of military service? Rodney: Only my Uncle Harold, during World War II. Mr. A.: Oh? What were the circumstances? Rodney: Gangrene, sir, of the right leg. Mr. A.: What theater was he in' Rodney: That's just the point, sir, he couldn't be in a theater out there. They travelled around. Mr. A.: I don't quite understand what you mean, Rodney. Rodney: Well, you know the U.S.O. can't have much in the way of proper theaters. Uncle Harold was a tap-dancer, and it seems that they had set him up a kind of shaky platform. All it took was one false tap and his whole leg went through! Mr. A.: Ahem! Well, Rodney, it seems our time together has run out. I hope we'll be able to find a suitable solution for your problem. You'll hear from us within the next few days. Goodbye. Rodney: Goodbye, Mr. Armstrong. Peace. 148 E I m 152 E SENIOR THESIS IN ANTHROPOLOGICAL STUDIES Sexual Licentiousness of the Ancient Mythological Dieties as Circumscribed by Kinship Relationships Once we have had been made aware th-t the various gods could relate only to specific members of their elite clan, we shall have been made more Cognizant of certain determina- tive factors in their lives?- Foci- exampi ■■■■■■■I I SENIOR THESIS IN ANTHROPOLOGICAL STUDIES Sexual Licentiousness of the Ancient Mythological Dieties as Circumscribed by Kinship Relationships Once we have hud -been made aware that the various gods could relate only to specific members of their elite clan, we shall have been made more cognizant of certain determinative factors in their lives.
