Raymond Walters directed the Uni- versity during the Depression and the War years in a judicious manner. In the following decade, a large construction program was undertaken. Under Walter C. Langsam, the current president, ex- pansion has been continued. Additional colleges were added to bring the total to fourteen and the city gave the University administrative control over the Cincinnati General Hospital. In 1967, U.C. adopted a state affiliated status.
