BISHOP RECAPS CONQUEST OF EVEREST In October an overflow audience in Wilson Audi- torium heard UC grad Barry Bishop recount the American expeditionls victorious assault on Mt. Ev- erest. Slides taken by the assault team on the 29,000 foot peak added to Bishop's commentary. The climax to the evening, however, came when Bishop was pre- sented with the first William Howard Taft Alumni Medal, awarded by the UC Alumni Association for notable and distinguished achievement, Bishop's silhouette is visible flower rightj as he shows slide of Americans placing flag on Everesfs snowy peak.

Upperclassmen returning to UC in late September were somewhat startled to find the campus taken over by the Class of '67, At last the proposed quarter system had become reality at the University of Cin- cinnati, and freshmen were participating in a full week of orientation activities before classes for the fall quarter were scheduled to begin.
