The University has seen rapid growth in enrollment. upernting mstse and facilities. In the past decade XIeNliekeiL Alms. and the Fieldhouse were mmplcted; Ihhncy and French Residence halls were erected; and udditinns were made tn the physics and hinlugy buildings, :15 well as to med sehuul. Meanwhile. the barracks vanished. Cruwded cunditicms were expected as more and more aspired to :1 higher education. To meet the demand UC is establishing :1 two year general college. The so-ealled street- enr nthSphere disappears somewhat as the campus grows and one Hf the largest municipal universities gets bigger. Alms Memorial wing houses a library, exhibition gallery, and an auditorium; the AA building contains classmums labs, studios. and uHiccs.
