The Go - 013 One of Cincinnatfs outstanding fea- tures is its cooperative education, orig- inated by Dean Herman Schneider in 1906. Three University colleges oper- ate as coop schools: Bus Ad, Applied Arts, and Engineering. The system al- ternates seven weeks of school with eight weeks of work. Complications arise as a result, with one-fourth of campus arriving and leaving each sec- tion. Coops enjoy iihump day, and iihappy seventh weekf, both peculiar to the system. A part-time student, the coop is regarded as the most famous result of the Universityis facilities.

When his work is complete, it will be possible to destroy these snails. Recipient of a grant from the N ational Science F oundation, Dr. Etges has furthered his studies at Mountain Lake Biological Station at the University of Virginia. He has also done extensive research in para- sitology, the study of the relation of a parasite to its host. Main stress is on the life cycle of flukes. Dr. Etgesi research is a part of the total University research program designed to further the advance of mankind's knowledge. Much mod- ern progress can and will result from the research efforts of this young, personable professor and other ca- pable, trained scientists like him. The year is a memorable story, the result of an interplay of news, thoughts, and emotions. In its course, the earth makes one complete revolution about the sun, and, in that space of time, news becomes history. Not only is the year a period of time, but it is also , .. the people who lived during that time and the events that took place. Most of all, it is the change that occurred. Most memorable to many Americans was missile testing tabovel or to others who had probably never seen the University, it was Castrols uprising tmiddlel. To some people of the University, the Sing tbelowl may have been most Vivid. The University year meant traditional experiences like registration and Homecoming and unanticipated events like pinnings and queens. Some peoplels memories will be featured here, while others, equally important, may not even appear in this book. Greek rush crowds first few weeks The month of September came in like a lion, ed. Anxiety mounted as the two weeks reached and left in the same manner. Rushees for frater- a climax. For the men, bids were being accepted; nities and sororities began to prepare for the par- for the women, the decision was to be made after ties given at the different houses.
