The lions in front of McMicken Hall have seen many changes during the past year. The building was first occupied by a contingent of soldiers from the Ferrying Division. When these moved out, their place was taken by a company of the W.A.C. The poor lions have had a very ruddy complexion all year. Dean Barbour, beloved by the entire student body, continues to make the freshmen feel at home and to inspire the upperclassmen in their search for knowledge. Social life is reaching a more normal status with the return of men from the service. Plans for the new McMicken Hall are most attractive and the future of the College of Liberal Arts looks bright indeed. GEORGE B. BARBOUR Dean of the College of Liberal Arts

Some people add on their fingers. Starting as a branch of the College of Engineering and Commerce, the Commerce Department reached such importance during the past years that it attained the status of a college. With the complexities of modern business and the multiplicity of regulations and forms of taxation, this new college will probably grow in size and importance as it trains busi- ness leaders to meet these new problems. The College of Business Administration is indeed fortunate to have a man as widely known and respected in business circles as Dean Francis H. Bird. PAGE 23 UNIVERSITY FRANCIS H.
