N 1896 the Medical College of Ohio Cfounded in ' 18195 became the Medical Department of the University. Since its organization in 1887, the Clinical and Pathological School of the Cincinnati Hospital has been afhliated with the University, being designated as the Medical Department until 1896 and afterwards as the Department of Clinical Medicine. In J une, 1908, an invitation was extended by the Board of Directors of the University of Cincinnati to the Miami Medical College to become a department of the University for the academic year 1908-09. This arrangement was pre- liminary to the merging of the Miami Medical College of Ohio in June, 1909, which resulted in a single medical depart- ment-one of the best in the United States-with the title of The Ohio-Miami Medical College of the University of Cincinnati. ge twenty-one
