Good communication between the administrators and the faculty is an important factor in a college growing as fast as Central. Here Dean of Students Charles Richmond and English professor Clara Altaffer discuss campus happenings. FACULTY AND STUDENTS GUIDE The eyes of students and faculty as well as Oklahoma are always upon President Godfrey, the man who is leading Central State through its period of growth and improvement. in ' 'll ' EE JE , it cg,r....i The image of Central State College is molded by the administration and faculty. The administrators are the people who build the college around the students and their needs. ln their minds and in their hands lie the foundations of many new buildings, rules and changes which affect the Central students, the state of Oklahoma and education as a whole. Their realm in the college world is made up of iobs which range from signing a contract which will begin con- struction on a new building to approving freshman class plans for a dance. Gathering pecans which fall around campus in the late fall is an added benefit to being a Central professor. Here coaches stuff their pockets with the free bounty.

Before the advent at voting machines, the students voted in the conventional way, with Stu- dent Senate members handling the polls. ACTIVITIES The ideas and needs of the student body are focused to the ad- ministration through the student governing bodies. Elected and controlled mainly by the students, the governments work toward the betterment of the students and student facilities. Strong and active student governments are as important to the students' education as are the many hours spent listening to lectures and the hours spent in laboratories. These bodies provide the student with lessons both in democracy and in social contact. Through student-sponsored elections the student body comes into contact with the rules and regulations which they will live with after leaving college. Campaign signs and more campaign signs help the candidates get votes, but they seem of only passing interest to the Student Union customers. gi. 2 ' 1 1 , . . f Q P 'iw --, '45 i , X
