ROAR — and basketball season was underway in 1958. Here the varsity played the freshmen on December 5. The varsity finally edged out of the scrimmage, but the freshmen made a tremendous showing in this ballgame. SPLASH — sounded the win for the Cowboy swim- mer ' s first meet of the season, December 6. The pokes scored 56 points in the invitational meet. Wyoming set new records in the 200 yard free style relay, the 400 yard medley, and the 40 yard sprint relay. On November 18, the College of Engineering presented their candidates for Engineer ' s queen at the annual Engineer ' s Smoker. From this group, Misses Leslie Shoemaker, Judy Cook, and Georgia Doll were picked for final elections. 17

Former U.W. history professor, Dr. Gale McGee left the campus last year to place himself in the congressional race. Now U. S. Senator of Wyoming, he is interviewed here by Chet Huntley of NBC Television. 26 Dec. 2: Members of Spurs didn ' t bother to rest during Thanksgiving vacation, but came firing back with a style show. Clothes were furnished by Kassis, The Connit Shop, and Flory ' s Shoe Store. The show itself was organ- ized by Miss Louise McKnight, university student from Lusk. Modeled were sport clothes, lounging ensembles, school casuals, smart afternoon wear, evening dresses, and formals. Shown to the left is Miss Jo Shillinglaw of Wheaton, 111., and to the right Miss Cora Shelton of Laramie, Miss Lynn Harnsburger served as mistress of ceremonies.
