The modern living room was seen by many visitor ' s to the home management open house. UW division of home economics alumni and others attended the dedi- cation of the $47,000 new home man- agement house Oct. 4. The dedication climaxed two days of special activ- ities. The three-story house is a lab- oratory for curriculum courses for six junior and senior home economics majors. New home management house. cornerstones and dedications . This picture of the library cornerstone was a symbol of the vast building expansion on campus.

a gay life. . . Frosh students ere guests at an as- sembly, a dance, a movie and an all school picnic as well as at entrance examinations. The fraternity spirit caught fire Sept. 20, when frat men outside the Union waited for rushees to pick up their bids. Many Students were fed at the steakfry. 4V 4 ,r-i:f An all school pep assembly was held and hopeful candidates for cheerleading led the yells. The cheerleaders were elected for the first time by an all school group. Surrounding Dale Memmelaar, Poke captain, were cheerleaders: Bob Ulrich, Judy Mitchell, Janice Elmer, Karen Jackson, Nancy Bjorn and Dave Gribbin.

Making a hit were their trumpet choir, their harpest and especially their English post horn soloist, Frank Scimonelli. Many who had never seen or heard the post horn, found this long graceful instrument a crys- tal treat. 11 J
