CITEHE CONTENTS DEDICATION ADMINISTRATION FACULTY IN MEMORIUM SENIORS UNDERCLASSMEN ACTIVITIES SPORTS FEATURES 352ND COLLEGE TRAINING DETACHMENT ADVERTISING DEDICATION Respectfully, ond with qratitude, we dedicate our 1944 Gitchc Gumcc to you. Miss MacQuilkin. who wore its quidc for so many years. Wc know that you keep a humorous eye on us from just across the campus— and wc thank you for it. This little book is our thanks, and our way of remindinq you that retirement from active service does not relieve you of all obliqation to us. You have too firm a place in our hearts for us to let you qo so easily. ADMINISTRATION PRESIDENT WILLIAMS Commander of the STC theater of operations, President Williams has done a commendable job in winning the friendship and confidence of the students. We appreciate the difficulty of heading a college in wartime. Knowing that he has many problems to solve, we pledge our loyal support. REGENT SUNDQUIST Mr. Sundquist keeps a neighborly eye on the progress of the Col-leg and its activities. STC is a better school for his friendship. MISS ELLEN CLARK. Oean of Women Although Crownhart Hall li no longer the home of the girls of STC. they still come for quidanco and sympathetic counsel to M.ss Clark, trustinq in her intelligent direction and understandinq for the answers to their problems. Miss Clark teaches history, and finds time to act as adviser to the Inter Club Council. DR. LOOP. Director of the Training School Since the men of STC have qonc to war, the need for a Dean of Men has been discontinued. Dr. Loop is now devoting his attention to the McCas-kill School in his new position as its Director. He is carryinq on in the training school with his uSuol wisdom and efficiency. mk. wnniNCT, principal of the Training School He doesn't say much—but he gets things done. He likes children and they trust him as a friend. The success of the Training School is larqely due to the influence of its principal. OFFICE CREW Jovcc Williams. Recorder: Janet Osmundson. Assistant Secretary; Gladys Bock, Financial Noerntarv: Mabel McKinnon. Secretary to the President. MISS WILLIAMS, Recorder Memories ore faulty at best, but when doubts arise, the proof of the pudding is not in the eatinq,_ but rather to be found in Miss Williams' carefully kept files. Clearance sheets and transcripts arc two of her services which students most appreciate. MR. SCHRIEBER, Acting Registrar With Mr. Lanqlcy in the armed forces. Mr. Schricbcr has added the duties of registrar to his heavy program of teaching physics and astronomy to both student and army classes. Many of the knotty, bchind-thc-scenc problems are solved by him. and the course straiqhtcncd for troubled students. FACULTY IN SERVICE 1. Colonel Jim Don Hill: Over-seas. 2. Major Thorpe M. Sho was loved for the quiet strength of her character, for her kindness, for her sympathetic and sincere manner. In large measure she was responsible for the wholesome spirit that exists in the Kinderqarten-Primary department. The little children with whom she sang have volunteered to keep her memory bright by singing at least one of her favorite songs whenever they meet. We can offor no better tribute. The curtain parted for the beginning of another busy Alpha Psi Omego season with the presentation of CRY HAVOC, a story of the nurses abandoned on Bataan. The mask of tragedy was exchanged for that of comedy when the college players, with the masculine support of the 3S2nd Detachment, presented the rollicking story of JUNIOR MISS. LITTLE WOMEN, adopted to the wartime enrollment with an all-women cast, was prepared to be taken on the rood to various schools around the state. For her fine direction of Cry Hovoc and Junior Miss , a medal to Miss Ohman. She has aiven distinguished service this year, as before, not only in the production of these plays, but in teaching her regular college English classes, and her Army Air Corps classes.
