THE GIFT FOR A FRIEND. (Copyright. 1009. by Associated Sunday Magazines. Incorporated) There is one fitting gift for a friend, and that is the true coin of God's realm, sincerity! For. though it has two aspects, the one stern, the other tender, yet it has only one value, and that the highest. It is the coin hardest to mint, costliest to procure, easiest to lose. It has been refined in the furnace of anguish, and stamped in the hours of decision. And it is made of one metal, perfect and unalloyed, in the souls of sane men and women. Tears brighten it, laughter strengthens it. all persons honor it. If I give it to inv friend I still keep it. and if I give it not. 1 forfeit my right of possesion. Marguerite Ogden Bigelow. (Mrs. James C. Wilkinson.)
