FORWARD To Our Readers: This year we have furnished a guide to take you through the pages of the Iris. You will find that your guide is a very familiar symbol of our college. We have taken the liberty of naming him Stevie, the Pointer. Stevie will take you on a pictorial tour showing the events of the past year at Central State. He is stationed at appropriate places to help you find pictures of various phases of college life. IN MEMORIAM We, the students at Central State College, dedicate this nineteen fifty three Iris to the memory of Dr. Harold Tolo. His little office on second floor was more than just an office, for few passed by without stopping in for some friendly advice or just a brief chat with Doc. His laughing manner and deep-toned voice ringing through the halls were a welcome sound to all; newcomers soon knew he was a friend. Dr. Tolo's classes, conducted in the most home-like atmosphere, were no cinch; but who did not love the heated discussions there, whether it be the history of yesterday or the politics of today? Yes, we shall always remember Doc. 5
