Because he was a friend, available whenever one of his boys needed him for help or just moral support. Because he was more than a coach, more than a teacher; because he was a gentleman, one who believed in the right and exercised what he believed. Because he worked for the good of the community through the Physical Education Department, bringing the school closer to the people. Because he began activities of usefulness, a physical education system for the V-5's, a playground and sports program for Stevens Point, Because he was a square shooter, an all around coach and a friend who kept his door open for us at CSTC, We dedicate the 1951 Iris to the memory of Coach George R. Berg, who died October 1, 1950. (1942 - 1950)
