SENIORS An enviable stage of refinement, knowledge, and maturity is attributed to the seniors by underclassmen. The seniors are those who are able to demand respect for themselves in their respective fields. Because they obtain so much wisdom and are able to draw references from many experiences, they become the counselors for the innocents. Seniors will well remember ail the chatter about practice teaching, interviews, lesson plans, and activities that took place at the Training or Demonstration schools. This is the year of accepting positions — signing contracts. Organizations led by seniors wonder how they shall carry on after so many of their members have been graduated. This is also the year for the seniors to display their talents in the planning of a senior ball. Through the effective work of a capable committee, this year's ball became a Marshmallow World for all who attended. King Lloyd Peterson and his Queen, Mary Ann Petersen led the grand march that high lighted the gala occasion created especially to honor the seniors. Others who served as class officers were Charles Bruce, vice president; Ken Garska, secretary; and George Mosey, treasurer. The class received its guidance from Miss Bertha Glennon and Mr. Robert Lewis. Spring dinners were given to honor graduating seniors. The WSGA banquet in May for graduating students as well as sorority and fraternity parties were representative of such festivities. There were last minute things to attend to — renting gowns, sending out announcements, and filling out application blanks. Seniors will never forget marching up to receive their degrees or diplomas on commencement day. These memories will linger long after they have been gone from CSTC. ■ GREATHOUSE, GEORGE Port Washington Secondary; Major: History. Minors: Social Science, English.
