FACULTY COON after the law of 1865 had taken its place among the statutes, the board had decided upon the policy of placing a normal school in each of the six congressional districts of the state. Proposals for the location of Such schools were then received by the board. After examination of the sites, the board in May, 1866, voted to build normals in Platteville and Whitewater.
