Planes flying faster than sound, pictures bouncing off an artificial satellite and traveling thousands of miles across water, miracle drugs, machines with memories and manned space flights seem almost beyond belief even by those of us who live with them. • Ninety percent of all the scientists who have ever lived are living today. • Ninety percent of all drugs being prescribed by physicians today were not even known 10 years ago. And what of the future? Engineers predict that three-fourths of all those who will work in industry in 1975 will be making products that have not yet been invented or discovered.
