INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CLUB OFFICERS Robert Pickering......................................................President John Burgess..........................................................Vice-President Aroldo Thayer.........................................................Secretory-Treasurer The International Relations Club has as its purpose the promoting of interest in international problems. Previously, membership had been limited to history majors, but this year the club was open to all students and faculty interested in current international problems. During the foil term the group journeyed quite frequently to St. Poul to attend various lectures. 4 October 14 — Who Controls Our Foreign Policy Arthur Schles-singer, Jr. November 2 — Economics and the Marshall Plon Seemore E. Harris. November 15 — Federol World Government by a United Youth Federalist. Three interesting programs which were held in River Falls were Mr. Bernard McCarthy's description of his bicycle trip through Europe and England, Miss Bloom's informal lecture on the devaluation of the English pound, ond Mrs. Justin William's timely address on Jopan today. Nowok The purposes .of Newman Clubs ot non-Catholic schools or colleges are to supplement the work of secular instruction, to aive the Catholic students an opportunity to come together and to guide their spiritual, religious, and social life. The Newman Club fosters a spirit of peace, harmony, ond fellowship on the campus. Activities of the Newman Club include meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of eoch month, communion breakfasts once a term, retreats once a term, business meetings by the council twice a month, mixers twice a term, and parties once a term which included sleigh rides and skiing.
