?lattwille i4 unique Students enrolled at Wisconsin State College and Institute of Technology at Platteville can earn a bachelor of science degree in agriculture, industrial arts, secondary education, elementary education, arts and sciences, and technology. Platteville is one of the few state colleges that offers such a wide variety of academic fields. This year the Pioneer College's di- verse educational facilities attracted students from Wisconsin, thirteen other states, and ten foreign countries. Opportunities for achievement at Pioneer College are many and varied, encouraging each student to be outstanding in his own way. Many means of recogni- tion exist in this college community. Athletic awards are received at an all-school assem- bly in the spring on Athletics Award Day. Journalis- tic, scholastic, and student teaching honors are award- ed at the Senior Banquet at the end of the academic year. Kings and queens of social events are honored by being selected by the student body. Student Gov- erning Board members are elected by popular vote of the classes and four divisions to represent the student body in meetings with the administration. Officers of the classes and organizations are recognized as leaders in positions of responsibility.
