FOSTER POR TER Regent, Bloomington, Wisconsin MILTON LONGHORN Dean of Instruction, Registrar, Pro- fessor of History MILTON R. MEHLHOUSE Regent, Lancaster, Wisconsin ADMINISTRATI ON Jutwm Dr. Bernard Harris, Dean of Men and Students, ex- tends his thoughts toward our future and his hands toward our needs as he instructs his class in Voca- tional Guidance and provides our college with its stu- dent testing program. In moments of indecision, his counselling is a greatly appreciated service. The door is always open and a comfortable chair awaits you at the office of Dean Rosamond Risser Jones. Our congenial counsellor maintains the college social calendar, keeps track of the organizations, and is the Guidance and Business Administration instruc- tor. Mr. Milton Melcher provides a link between the past and the future. He has been connected with ed- ucation in Platteville since 1923. Now he is professor of geology at WSCIT as well as guidance director for all students in mining, civil, and pre-engineerina. Dr. Milton Longhorn, Dean of Instruction, pro- vides our insight into the future from freshman reg- istration to college graduation. The graduate and summer programs together with classes in govern- ment and history complete his busy schedule.

BARNES Instructor of Library Science FACULTY mkdicated The faculty of Pioneer State College is composed of men and women dedicated to the spread of learn- ing. Educating students is their chosen field of work which they execute to the best of their abilities. The faculty contributes mainly in the formal in- struction of students. The faculty members are also very important in campus life as faculty advisors of all the various college organizations. Because of their activity in these organizations, they are closely as- sociated with one or more groups of students. Their close work with student activities gives students valuable opportunities of learning not received in the classroom. , The faculty 'members are professionals in their field and are active in professional groups. Their in- terest in the welfare of the city, state, and nation is reflected in the high level of participation in civic state-wide, and national non-professional organiza- tiorls. This, indeed, makes them key figures in soc1ety. rector of Royce Hall
