...undw.ahawzgun Down through the years many traditions have been formed and some of these have special days set aside for them. Homecoming is the main event in the fall. It consists of a week of activities; coronation, per- fonnanc-e by guest stars, bonfire and pep rally, stunt night, parade, game, alumni tea, and a dance. The series of events are all organized and conducted by college students. Other highlights in the fall are iiMi, Day for students in the Division of Technology and Dadis Day honoring the fathers of football and cross country team members. During the winter, social events like the Sawdust Ball, Christmas Formal, Parentls Night, Senior Ban- quet, Mardi Gras are eagerly awaited. 14 Canine friend enjoys Commons food The peak of the social season arrives during the Miners Ball, with the lighting of the ltM for which it is nationally known, and the Junior Prom. The year closes with graduation week; Senior Day, Bac- calaureate, Alumni Banquet and Commencement. Football and basketball games, Pioneer Playersl productions, concerts, professional plays, and campus organization activities round out a full and active year. Some of the most pleasant and memorable moments of recreation are not planned. A coke break or llbull sessionl can be as enjoyable as an evening at a formal dance and may be the beginning for many lifelong friendships.
