Guiles On December 11, 1959, educational leaders along with college and state officials witnessed the inauguration of Dr. Roger E. Guiles, as the sixth president of Wisconsin State College, Oshkosh. In delivering his inaugural address, Dr. Guiles discussed problems which higher education must face both now and in the future. The problems of increased enrollments, course offerings, and faculties are reflective of the growth of all of the nation’s schools. Under the administration of Dr. Guiles, OSC too must meet the challenge which the future holds for education and educators. In closing. Dr. Guiles paid tribute to those who have enriched OSC’s past and ended with the words, “Let us go forward together.” 5

President Guiles met ond visited with guests at a reception held in the Union, following the formal ceremony held in the Little Theatre. 6
