This yeor we have been happy and fortunate to have so many men who served in the Armed Forces in our student body. Tests have shown and grades have substantiated that the veterans are here to learn; they top the student body. This fact indicates that age and experience can accomplish more than opportunity, sometimes. Not many of these veterans, however, are joining the ranks of teachers. Can it be that they see the detriments of low salary, uncertainty of tenure, and other drawbacks; or are the fields they see distantly, greener than actuality will reveal? Oh, yes! I almost forgot to tell you that the name of the race is the one which Civilization and Catastrophe are running; Catastrophe has won some of the heats too, and apparently by greater margins than Civilization, whose form is poor but whose stamina seems pretty good, has been able to show.
