The Pollock House Education for Casting Victory Those who would gladly have learned the w ays of peace have, of necessity, learned the ways of war; young people are not much interested in books and the wisdom of the past when action on hundreds of fronts calls. They have responded; therefore, colleges have feu to teach. That education and training have saved us as a nation but feu would deny, for they have made our youth adaptable and trainable, and they have held up for guidance much of the idealism and knowledge w hich steel a nation to do and to suffer. Although education is a life-long process, it must start somewhere, sometime. Teachers are required by the learning process, and our concern is that teachers adequately prepared in all respects he available for the sake of the children of today and the civilization of tomorrow. We shall attain victory in this war; we may he more fortunate in making a durable peace than formerly, but victory in life comes only through living and acting justly, reverently, humbly, productively, culturally, and understanding . How can these things he unless we have good teachers? FORREST R. POLK
