During his thirty-four years of service in this college. Dr. Farley held a high place in the affections and the respect of both the faculty and the students. A profound scholar, he conferred distinction upon his degree. l eing recognized as an authority in his chosen fields of psychology and education. Loyalty to the institution and devotion to the task of training well prepared teachers characterized his work. A fine sense of humor and a keen insight into human nature freed his classroom activity from any hint of drudgery; the breadth of his interests gave vitality to his instruction. He took pride in doing a line piece of work at teaching and devoted his energy unsparingly toward that end. In fact, his career was the fulfillment of 1 youthful ambition, for teaching had always apjxvalcd to him al ove all other professions. A keen observer of nature, he enjoved the outdoors both in solitude and in the company of others. His colleagues knew him as a delightful companion with a gift for vivid and stimulating conversation.
