To every man upon this earth Death cometh soon or late” is an apt ((notation which bids each living jxtsoii to exjx-ct the termination of his earthly work; and it ought to prepare surviving friends for an untimely end; yet a demise so sudden as that of Mr. Price finds us who lived and worked with him quite unprepared and licwildered. He had lieen a memlicr of this faculty for nearly nine years during which period he had dwelt in |x ace and harmony among us. doing cheerfully and well his ap|x inted tasks. He did not criticize others; he was charitable in his judgments; he had a fine understanding of human nature; and he worked with, and for. his colleagues and students. One need only see the liooks with which he surrounded himself to infer that he read widely, and in his field deeply. He was called ujxm to undertake several pioneering duties which is never an easy assignment; but in several of these he brought credit to himself and honor to the college. He was content to remain with us. though in these perilous times he had remarked that lie thought he might be doing something more for the preservation of our Country’s welfare, thus showing the thoughtful. rcs| onsiblc trend in his thinking.
