Zillman, Dean of Men, provides gui- dance and service for men students at the University. Dean illman is also chairman of the Student Life and Itiierests (lonunittee. the student-faculty committee which deals with all student extra-curricular activities. All funds for student organizations or all-campus functions are handled through the office of Ra mond llilsenhoff. Student financial Advisor. Porter Hutts has had his office as director of the Memorial Iriion since it began operations. As recorder, Vt . J. Harris heads the office of Registration and Records. S. Lee Burns is director of the L nivcrsity Residence Halls. Dr. .lohn U . Brown is director of the Department of Student Health. ' Hie position of director of the Stu- dent Counselling Center, which provides psychological testing and counselling for students, is held hy T . K. Drake. Marion E. Torniey has the job of director of the Student Employment Bureau. Paul L. Trump, as di- rector of Admissions, counsels with prospective fresh- men and transfer students, and advises incoming stu- dents about courses and degree requirements. A. Vi . Peterson VICE-PRESIDEIVTS To help carry out the adininistratiou of the Univer- sity, President E. B. Fred is aided hy tliree vice- presidents, Ira L. Baldwin for academic alTairs: A. W. Peterson for hiisiness and finance: and Kenneth J. Little for student affairs. Mr. Hald in assists President Fred in planning changes and improvements of an academic nature which are not covered by a specific college or school. He was previousK dean of the (graduate School and dean of the College of Agriculture. He now also heads the Campus Planning Committee, which formulates plans for improvements and changes in the uni ersii . Mr. Peterson is in charge of all business and linancial operations for the university, including collection of student fees, purchasing, buildings and grounds, ac- counting, the Housing Bureau, emplovment of civil service staff, investment of trust funds, and the newly formed Department of Protection and Securit . Among the offices supervised by Mr. Little in the department of student affairs are Dean of Men, Dean of VI omen, admissions, registration and records, stu- dent employment, student counselling center, and stu- dent statistics and research. President Wisconsin Alumni Association BERGE, JOHN Exeeutive Secretary Wisconsin Alumni Association The University of Wisroiisiii Foundation is a permanent non-profit organization acting as a re- ceiving agencv for private gifts and bequests for the benefit of the University. These gifts are used for University development in areas which are not adeqtiatelv provided for by the ordinary sources of operating income, tax allocations, student fees, or income from earnings. In 1946 the Foundation ' s Centi ' iuiial fund was established with a goal of SS.()00,000 for some of the Universit) s special needs. A successful re- activation of the campaign was begun in 1951 with a year-end solicitation of N isconsin industry. ith the fund goal nearly at the halfway mark, the campaign is now being focused on Wisconsin citizens, business and industry, and University alumni, faculty, students, and administration. The fund will provide for a Wisconsin Center building to be usetl for adult education: scholar- ships and fellowships for worthy and needy stu- dents: special professorships: and scientific instru- ments and apparatus for the University which cannot be reasonably expected from legislative appropriations.
