Dr. Fred is always available for eonsultation with anyone, from a first semester freshman to a member of the Board of Regents. President Fred served as dean of the College of Agri- eulture before being named universit) president in 1945. He had already built up a reputation as a scientist when he assumed his job as the twelfth president of the university. Since then Dr. Fred has gone about his work with a friendly and co-operative spirit for everyone with whom he comes in contact. 18
