BOARD OF VISITORS The Board of Visitors of the University of Wisconsin is composed of twelve members three of whom are appointed hy the Governor of the State, three hy the Board of Regents of the University and six by the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association. The Board of Visitors reports to the Regents. It is concerned primarily in rendering such assistance as it can in maintaining the highest possible stand- ards in all University activities and particularly in teaching. It is authorized to examine generally the work of the University, the condition of buildings and grounds and anv other matters relative to the welfare and efficiency of the University. IRA L. BALDWIN— Mr. Baldwin, as ' icc-Prcsident of Academic Affairs, helps President Fred make academic improve- ments and changes that are not within the scope of specific schools and colleges. He also heads the Campus Planning Commit- tee, which forms plans f or improvement and changes of the University, and pre- viously served as Dean of the Graduate School and Dean of Agriculture. Ira L. Baldwin, vice-president of Academic Affairs. A. W. Peterson, vice-president of Business and Finance. VICE PRESIDENTS A. W. PETERSON— Mr. Peterson serves as ' ice-President of Business and Finance. He is in charge of all business and finan- cial operations for the University, includ- ing supervising the collection of student fees, purchasing buildings and grounds, accounting, and investing trust funds for the University. He serves as Assistant Sec- retarv of the Board of Regents, and this vear he also holds the office of Treasurer of the Memorial Union Building Committee. 21
