l; ' r Dr. Boyd looks at new men ' s dormitory to be erected in the near future. boyd, new president, Effects campus improvements A new President leads the activities of West Georgia stu- dents and faculty seeking to improve the college. Dr. James Emory Boyd assumed the presidency of West Georgia College last year after a distinguished career at the Georgia Institute of Technology which brought him national eminence in the field of science and research. Since 1957 he had been director of Georgia Tech ' s Engineering Experiment Station. While indelibly dedicated to the whole cause of educa- tion, Dr. Boyd is active in business, industrial, and other areas of endeavor. Mrs. Boyd is a native of Carrollton, the former Elizabeth Reynolds Cobb, and the two met and married here in 1934 while he was a member of the original faculty of West Georgia College. Since coming to West Georgia College, Dr. Boyd has charted a challenging program of progress for the institution as it seeks to expand and improve its academic offerings and physical fa- cilities.
