WEST GEORGIA TRAINING SHOPS W. Parker Bedingfield Supervisor During the past year, the college has operated a General Machine and Wood Shop up on the hill as a contribution to the war effort. It has complete and up-to-date equipment, the operation of which has served a dual purpose — one, the production of certain war materials such as bomb and rocket boxes, and metal utilities for the armed forces; two, to give practical training in machine shop operation to college students who have registered for this work. The college has acquired full ownership of the shops and tools and they are now operated by the college as a training department. Under the supervision of Mr. Parker Bedingfield, the vocational staff is laying plans for a greater program of education after the war, offering thorough and efficient train- ing to industrial workers and supervisors. Working with Mr. Bedingfield in the vocational education program are: Mrs. Benelle Barbee, bookkeeper; J. W. Fountain, War Production Engineer; F. C. Herrell, Sheet Metal Foreman; J. M. King, Machine Shop Foreman; and J. B. Stallings, Wood Shop Foreman. 13
