The WEST GEORGIAN was awarded the standard of excellence for the second con- secutive year. This placed the publication in the top ranks of Junior College news- papers. The staff members presented a bi- monthly paper consisting of entertaining features, editorials, and important news. The paper was synonymous with the life and enthusiasm which pervaded the campus.

Activities of the year include initiation of new members in a candle lighting service, annual Christmas party for McGibbony school children, Victory Ball, Hobby Show and the annual May Day Festival. The theme adopted for the year was Areas in which Home Economists may aid in National Defense. The organization is affiliated with the state and national home economics asso- ciation.
