ALABAMA COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE BASEBALL CHAMPS FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR 1967 was a banner year for the Tiger haseballers as they captured their third consecutive Alabama Collegiate Conference championship and represented district 27 in the N .A.1.A. playoffs at Statesboro, Georgia. The seasonal record for the squad was 19-7. Head coach James Gray called this team the finest team he had ever been associated with. Ahly assisting Gray was former Auburn pitching star Gerald Lewter. Pitching stars Jeff Campbell and Ken Kulp, catcher Willie Elmore, and centerfielder Berry Halladay were selected as honorable mention All-Americans. Campbell had a 7-3 mark and Kulp won 7 while tasting defeat only once. Elmore and Halladay both. batted over .300 as they have for each of the past three seasons at Livingston. Campbell and Elmore signed professional contracts at the end of the season. Third sacker Jerry Daniels and shortstop Bobby Fairley had great years in the infield as did Billy Pope and Bill Campbell in the outfield. Pitchers Ray Jennings and Johnny Jackson came on late in the season ' and did i'emarkable jobs for Coach Grafs squad.
