He received his MS in 1968, and PHD in 1972 from the Univ. of Washington in the field of Physical Oceanography. He's enjoyed his sea tours, and duty on the Bainbridge. His last assignment was in the Dept. of Energy's Office of Military Ap- plication. He enjoys skiing, gardening, jogging. and biking. J. Madden, graduated from Brown University in 1967 with an English literature degree. After attending SWOS he served in many billets, his favorites be- ing CO of Middle East Force Staff, and River Divi- sion 593. While here LCDR.
