Congratulations to the Class of 197 7 Student days at the University of Washington are behind you. The long difficult path leading to your baccalaureate degree and your commission tested your resolve and determination and provided the educational base upon which to build your career. It was a time of successes and disappointmentsg a time of excitement and of seemingly never ending routineg but most of all it was a period of personal develop- ment. Your perceptions of the world around you were broadened and your apprecia- tion of interpersonal relationships increased. I am proud of your accomplishments and you have my best wishes as you commence your career of service to our country. May you have fair winds and following seas in the years ahead.
