Barnes was born in Oregon and has previously served with the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After transferring over to the Navy, the Chief has served on board DE's and DI.G's, with CRUD ESPAC, and with PHIBPAC via FMF and l.V'I'A's. ' AB, xi AMOI, Gunnery Sergeant Harvey, is from Pascoag, Rhode Island. He enlisted in June 1956 to serve in a variety of assignments around the world, including Drill Instructor at Parris Island, and two tours in Vietnam.
