Chief Burtner entered the Navy in December, 1953, at Tacoma, Washington. He has been on board submarines most of his career. His last duty was aboard the Polaris submarine USS lewis and Clark qSSBN644J. 12

Lt. Fritsch is a native of San Antonio, Texas. He entered the Navy ROTC program at UCLA in 1963 and was graduated with a B. A. in Inter- He has served in PACFLT destroyers all his commissioned service. He qualified as Fleet OOD in 1969 and was designated a Surface Warfare Officer in 1971 . Tours of duty have included service as Assistant Navigator and CIO Officer in USS Janies E. KYES QDD-7875, Operations Office and Chief Staff Officer on COM DESDIV 192 staff, duty under instruction at US Naval Destroyer School and Guided Missile School and two years as Weapons Officer on USS BERKELEY QDDG-155. He assumed his present duties as Navigation Instructor in June 1974. In addition to his regular instructor duties he is pursuing a Master's Degree in Foreign Affairs at the University of Washington Graduate School of Public Affairs. we 'fl The Freshman Instructor, It. Egan served for four years as an enlisted man on active duty. When discharged in 1963 he joined the reserves and received his commission through the Reserve Officer Candidate program after graduating from Oregon College of Education in 1967. His first assignment was to the USS HAMN ER QDD-7183 as DASH Officer, EMO and CIC Officer. Later he was assigned to US Naval Destroyer School, Newport, Rhode Island for training. Beltz, Sophomore Class Instructor, graduated in 1968 from Auburn University, being commissioned through the NROTC program at that University and was assigned to the Naval Flight Training Command as a student. After completing helicopter training he was assigned to flying duty. Ile has qualified in a variety of aircraft and has had tours in several squadrons including a combat tour in Vietnam flying an H-1 gunship as a member of Helicopter Attack Squadron Three. 'Q 11

FTGC Gerald F. Hosterman enlisted in 1959, and has served on board destroyers in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. The Chief and his wife, Joyce, have two childreng Jeraldine and Gerald. 9? Barnes was born in Oregon and has previously served with the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After transferring over to the Navy, the Chief has served on board DE's and DI.G's, with CRUD ESPAC, and with PHIBPAC via FMF and l.V'I'A's. ' AB, xi AMOI, Gunnery Sergeant Harvey, is from Pascoag, Rhode Island. He enlisted in June 1956 to serve in a variety of assignments around the world, including Drill Instructor at Parris Island, and two tours in Vietnam.
