I . xy, Q2 ' s LEARNING .5 1 The Ceremonial Mace is now carried by the University Marshal at Commencement and on other University occasions when fac- ulty and staff gather for the formality of an academic procession. Wlhen we, the C-lass of 1964, see this Mace carried at Commence- ment in June, let us recall that not only is it dedicated to the mem- ory of those of the Class of 1927 who are no longer here, but also in the years ahead that it shall become a memorial to all of them. The Mace is symbolic of the enduring loyalty of the Class of 1927 and shows with dignity the love and loyalty that 1927 bears for the University of Vermont. As wc, the Class of 1964, approach our last college milestone, let us hope that our friendships and our loyalties to the University will be even stronger and more enduring than those of the Class of 1927. 16
