Ui-me nennouifii Honsutfil- Ties llllllllllllll ff Student Government was organized five years ago in February, 1942. It was established to promote better self-government at U.V.M. by allow- ing each student to express himself through voting and attending meetings of the Council. At these meetings pertinent issues are discussed concern- ing all the studenfts and their activities on campus. Any student may atten-d to express his desires and raid in the establishment of better aims. All students are automatically members 'by paying the Student Activity Fee. This fee is appropriated bythe Council to the various organizations with the purpose of achieving the greatest good in the most eH'ective manner. Working directly with Student Government are committees dealing with the branches of student activities. Finance, Social, Freshman Orienta- tion, Athletics, Pep, Religion and Culture Committees contribute to the regulation of campus functions. Fwst row B Smith, P. Frazer, D. Conley, D. Holmberg, L.
