John Schoff Millis received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Prior to coming to U.V.M. he was an instructor and 'a professor of paoiicfenl' Midler Physics and Dean of College and Administration at Lawrence College, Ohio. He has had published a Laboratory Outline in Physics, and Articles on Atomic and Mole- cular Spectra. President Millis i-s a member of Sigma Xi, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Sigma Kappa, American Physical Society, and Rotary Club. fbeana. of Une 404121. ealleqed, DEAN McKEE ,Edd Ruthven McKee, Dean of the College of Engineering, is well known for his warm, friendly per- sonality. Operating from the northeast corner of the Waterman building as Dean, he is in addition, a pro- fessor of electrical engineering. Before coming to Vermont, Dean McKee was on the electrical engineering staff at Iowa State for thirteen years. He received his degree at this same institution, B.S. in 1920, M.S. in 1925, and E.E. in 1926. Dean McKee is a member of Adelante, Sigma Delta Chi journalistic society, and National Collegiate Players. DEAN BROWN Dean of the largest college of the University, that of Medicine, Dr. William Eustis Brown is also a professor of Health and Preventive Medicine. He graduated from Lafayette College, received his degree in Public Health from both Harvard and M.I.T., and his M.D. from Harvard. Coming to the University in 1945 after re- ceiving his discharge from the medical corps, Dr. Brown is already sold on Vermont. DEAN SWIFT , 1An annual publication can scarcely do justice to those whose many years of service to the University bely their youthful appearance. Elijah Swift came from Princeton to the University of Vermont as a professor of mathema- tics in 1914, became Assistant Dean in 1923, and full Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in 1931. He received his A.B. and M.A. degrees from Harvard and his Ph.D. from Gottingen, Germany. Dean Swift is Ia member of Delta Upsilon and Phi Beta Kappa and is honorary member of Boulder Society. DEAN CARRIGAN joseph Edward Carrigan, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Director of the Vermont Experiment Station, graduated from the University of Vermont in 1914, received his M.S. degree in 1931, and an LL.D. degree from the University of Maine in 1946. He became Director of the University Extension Service in 1931, and was robed in 1946. The most outstanding extension worker in the country. The Dean is a mem- ber of Alpha Zeta and Epsilon Sigma Phi. 441655
