In the evening You Can't Take It With You was presented by the University Players, and was delightedly applauded by the gala Junior Week crowd. Friday, soft moonlight and softer breezes made the perfect setting for the Junior Prom most important event of the spring season. With the sweet strains of Reggie Childs and his orchestra, the dance proved itself one of the most successful ever held. Saturday night the fun and good fellowship of the fraternity open house dances made the week a complete success, with the picnics Sunday furnishing the gentle rest of the quiet out-of-doors to make the Junior Week a perfect antidote for spring fever. menz' l THE SENIOR PROM Class Day, filled with the traditional fun which has grown through the years was opened with the address of President Chaffee to the assembled class, after which all joined in the class pilgrimage to the statues Where the traditional gowning of Lafayette and Ira Allen was performed. Then the pilgrimage continued to the flagpole Where the class banner was raised to float in the soft summer air over the remaining festivities of the Commencement Week. The events of the afternoon were opened by the address of the president to his classmates, after which in the peaceful setting of the pine grove on the front campus, were heard the traditional ora- tions which have such significance to the graduates of the University of Vermont. The Lafayette oration, the Ira Allen oration, the history of the class, the Boulder address, the Pipe oration, the address to the undergraduates, and the Ivy oration, followed and concluded by the singing of Cham- plain.
