C?-7654144114 6214 VERMONT, summer is slowly fading into autumn, cool morning mists clear to reveal skies of azure blue, leaves begin to turn to vivid shades of red and gold, and life blossoms on the University of Ver- mont Campus. Freshmen, shy, but eager to learn, and become a part of the school: sophomores, blase and self assured: the juniors secure and enthusiastic, iilled with a new maturity as campus duties begin to fall upon them: seniors rounding out their col- lege careers, with a new awareness in their eyes as they glimpse the world beyond the campus which they are soon to enter: all slip quickly into the routines and duties, the work and play of campus life, as another year begins. Enrollment over, the college swings into the fall events with the fountain fight, traditional clash THE BILLINGS LIBRARY between the freshmen and sophomores. Amid mud and water, shouts and groans, the freshmen are overcome and impressed with their lowly place in the scheme of things. The wild snake dance through the business section dies away as couples and groups break off and drift homeward through the quiet Warmth of the Indian Summer evening. Rushing begins, making classes a side issue. Green capped freshman men become the center of attention as the fraternities recruit new members to carry on their traditions. The Hose Fight comes and goes and pledging finishes up the hectic days of Rushing. The freshman doffs his green cap and takes his place among the student body, ready to do his part in the life of the School. THE REDSTONE CAMPUS
