T HELMA GARDNER, '37 Social Chairman ......... ............. lk TARY DRAPER, '38 Student Unionfs primary function is to see that all rules and regulations made for University women are obeyed. To this end the chief justice is elected annually. The new officers take office shortly after the vote at a formal installation usually held at the Fleming hfluseum. Student Union is in charge of the Big Sister System which assigns all freshman women to some upperclasswoman. Last year the freshmen were assigned only to those upperclasswomen who the Council thought had time to do a proper job of introducing the freshmen to college. In other years freshmen were often the little sisters of juniors and seniors who had pressing campus activities. Other functions staged by Student Union consist chiefly of mass meetings, attendance to which is compulsory for all college women. Usually heads of the women's organizations make announcements to open the proceedings. Then dancing is sometimes provided. Refreshments are served. SECOND ROW: GARDNER, B.
