Organizations Samothrace An organization of career ori- ented college women, the Samothrace Club was estab- lished to familiarize members with business opportunities open to women and to involve mem- bers in campus and civic func- tions. It sponsored speakers from the Placement Office and Career Planning Center. Pan American Art Association The Art Club was re-established this year to involve art students in local exhibits and to give them an opportunity to exhibit their work. Members organized an exhibit of student art work in the cam- pus art gallery.

Organizations Alpha Phi Omega A national service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega assembles col- lege men in the fellowship of the principles of the Boy Scouts of America as embodied in its oath and law. The organization promotes friendship and provides service to humanity. Debators Composed of six able members, the Pan Am Debators had a very successful year. They attended tournaments at Southwest Texas State, where they won one of four debates, and they also attended a tourna- ment at the University of Texas, winning two of four debates. LF- ,slr SNEA To keep future teachers informed of the happenings in the teaching field and to help them become better teachers of tomorrow are the main goals of the Student National Education Association. The members attended district, state and national conventions and made educational trips to public schools. A dinner for two at La Posada Inn, two tickets to a dance and a bottle of liquor were the prizes awarded in the SNEA raffle.
