Academics Mathematics The department of Mathematics offers both a major and a minor. It offers courses for students seeking a second teaching field for teacher certification. Stu- dents majoring or minoring in mathematics may go into either industry or government. An undergraduate specializing in mathematics begins with a study of calculus or algebra and trigonometry. Students are encouraged to establish credit in elementary courses by passing advanced standing exams. Academics Chemistry With a major in chemistry PAU students can obtain a bachelor of science degree. The depart- ment offers a minor in chemistry and some courses in pre-phar- macy. Students may select a major in chemistry, pre-dental and premedical. Academics Business Training in the field of business administration is adequately provided. There is also organiza- tion to prepare students for teaching, research and service to meet the needs of the public it serves. Students are furnished with the foundation which helps them cope with the demands of busi- ness and society. Alpha Kappa Psi is a business fraternity which consists of busi- ness majors and is sponsored by the Business Administration department.
