l'lOl'lOI'S Who's VVho A recognized institution of the student academic community, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Col- leges is conferred annually upon outstanding student leaders. Nominations to Who's Who came from all departments and organizations on campus. Selec- tions were made by a campus nominating committee and were based upon average academic standing. community service, leadership ability. and future potential. A total of 49 students from Pan American University were cho- sen to receive this honor from a total of l00 nominations. Each nominee received a certificate of recognition and in addition sub- mitted their Who's Who achievement for future refer- ences. After each student was notified of his accomplishment the dean of men presented each with a certificate at a gathering of all Whofs Who members. For many of the selected student leaders, recognition to Who's Who represented the culmina- tion of several years of active participation in student affairs. Most of the students selected to Who's Who were seniorsg none- theless, a few outstanding jun- iors were also honored. In a geographical breakdown almost every town in the Valley was ably represented. Who's Who Among Students in Ameri- can Universities and Colleges not only acknowledged these students, but also presented their academic efforts in a published volume of American student endeavors.
