Sports Two Hat Tricks The Broncs were at their scoring best both times they played Lamar University. In Beaumont, Lamar suffered a 7-0 clash with PAU as Daniel Viveros scored his third goal, giving him his first hat trick of the season. On Bronc territory, the second hat trick of the season was scored when Miguel Letelier made the first three goals against Lamar. The last two games of the season played by the Broncs were amidst rain and fields of mud in Houston. The Broncs played soccer with indefatigable deter- mination, but nonetheless were downed by the Southern Confer- enceis top teams. Both times Pan Am battled the Cougars, Houston gained seven goals and kept PAU from scor- ing. The only other games the Broncs dropped by such a wide margin were against Rice, 7-0 and 6-1. Ultimately, Houston won the state championship and Rice came in third in the all- Texas competition. The Houston and Rice games marked the end of the season for the Broncs who finished with a 2-7-1 record. ,. 2' f . V.. . :Q .
